Patricia Crampton owner of Zydeco Ice.
Born and raised on the Texas Coast, I can’t remember when I had my first snoball (New Orleans Style shaved ice), but I was pretty young. After graduating from Texas A&M with a degree in Accounting, working many years in Corporate America, getting married and moving to Georgetown, my husband and I decided on a whim to open Zydeco Ice. I had tried many other “snow cone” places over the years but never found the ones like I had when I was younger. So after a little research, some time spent convincing my husband, choosing a name and securing a lease, I opened Zydeco Ice in the Spring of 2006.
Our Story
Community
I think we sold 12 snoballs my first day and I was ecstatic! Over the years, the community of Georgetown and even some folks from further away have certainly embraced our business and gave me the opportunity to leave the corporate world and operate Zydeco Ice full time. We are very thankful for all our loyal customers and great employees who have been the heart of our business. We have now made and sold over 1,000,000 snoballs.
